Twisted History

My mom took me to the Armory to see a show with Hank Ballard and The Midnighters. Best rock'n'roll performance I've ever seen. I knew that something about what they were doing was naughty but I just didn't know exactly what. Also on the bill was Little Willie John, Sam Cooke, Lavern Baker and Marv Johnson. I tend to go on sometimes.

  1. Please continue to Go On at your leisure. I can't even wrap my head around having that many great people in one show. When I saw thew Beatles in '66, I did get to see Bobby Hebb, The Cyrkle & the Ronnie-less Ronettes (Specter didn't trust Lennon), and Hendrix with Woody's Truck Stop (the best local band - period). I had friends in NYC who saw one of the Murray The K shows with Buffalo Springfield in it - who played 3 songs. And got a big encore and were allowed to encore - and did the same three songs again.... I saw Loudon III with Asleep at the Wheel as his intro. But Ballard, Little Willie John, Sam Cooke, Lavern Baker and Marv Johnson? When Giants walked...
